Mr. Ghulam Qadir: The ARPD’s President, is one of those who, along with Mrs. Farhat Rehman, founded ARPD in December, 1985. He has been one of Mrs. Farhat’s closest associates throughout the development process of the Association till she left this world. Mr. Ghulam Qadir holds Master’s Degree in English literature. He is also a trained teacher with a B. Ed Degree and about seven years teaching experience. He joined Federal Government service in October, 1968 and retired as a senior Officer in September, 1999.
He has been a volunteer ever since inception of ARPD and has worked with a missionary zeal for efficient and effective programme delivery of Association. He was elected ARPD’s President in 1986 and continues to hold this office till to date with a vision to make Pakistan a country where the physically disabled are totally integrated in the mainstream society.

Brig Muhammad Aslam Khan (Retd)
holds a unique blend of senior management experience acquired through various
Military and Civil appointments. He has done Maters in Political Science,
Masters in Business Administration apart from many senior military courses i.e
graduation from Staff College Quetta, EME College and National Defence
University. He is also Fellow of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport
(UK).
He has been CEO of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO/WAPDA).
Director of National Commission for Human Development, National Programme
Coordinator UNDP for Baluchistan. Also served as Joint Secretary Prime Minister
Secretariat. Presently he is serving as GM of a company working in Oil and Gas
Sector.
As president, senior vice president and vice president of various
organizations has significant contribution to his credit. His services have been
acknowledged at the National/International level by various awards, gold medals
and certificates. He has a passion for social development work. As a volunteer
he has been working with RCPD since last many years. Presently he holds the
office of Senior Vice President of RCPD (Honorary).

Mr. Sibghat Ur Rehman: One of the founder members of ARPD. In 1983 he joined a project “Community Based Rehabilitation” for Persons with disabilities in NWFP. This project was run by UNICEF under the consultancy / supervision of Mr. M. Miles
1983 – 1987. Under this project 05 Rehab centres were
established with technical support from UNICEF in NWFP on shelf help basis. In 1987 he joined Directorate General of Special Education.

Committee of
Mr. Mushtaq Hussain: Born on May 6, 1964 and later on affected by Polio.
Mr. Mushtaq is a graduate and has 24 years experience in pharmaceutical
company, being in various administrative positions as well. He has
volunteered himself for RCPD as Public Relations Officer.
He has been working for the rights of the disabled from a long time. He is invited by different NGOs and social services groups for motivational speeches regularly.

Saira Qadir Yasir Hayat Khan

Miss. Saira Qadir: Living with Polio since her first birthday, did her masters in International Relations as a regular student of Peshawar University.
During her final year in International Relations Department of the University, she was elected President of the International Relations Students Association (IRSA) and did a lot of student’s welfare work in that capacity. Earlier, she had been the main motivating force in the establishment of RCPD.
After the untimely death of its founding member and Director, Mrs Farhat Rehman, in May 2005, Saira is running the RCPD with the same strength and spirit as that of Mrs. Farhat Rehman. The RCPD staff and the community elders feel that she is really a worthy successor of that great lady Mrs. Farhat Rehman. She received “Fatima Jinnah Medal-2006” from the Government of Pakistan. Recently Ms. Saira Qadir has attended MIUSA Sponsored Leadership Course in Eugene, Oregon—USA from August 12 to September 02, 2008.

Mr. Yasir Hayat Khan: Being born with a Neuromuscular Disorder and wheel chair bound since the age of 17, he overcame all the hurdles to complete his LL. B and Masters in Political Science. He is associated with RCPD since 2007.
He has represented ARPD at Karachi during the launching ceremony of NOWPDP (Network of Organizations Working for Physically Disabled in Pakistan) and various seminars leading up to it. He was also part of a workshop on Inclusive Education at Hayatabad, Peshawar.
He is the web developer and driving force behind our website as well.
